Storms tonight, another round of gusty storms likely Monday afternoon

TONIGHT: Thunderstorms Through 3 AM. Lo 66. Winds SE 5-10 mph.

MEMORIAL DAY: Morning Clouds, Peeks of Afternoon Sunshine. Scattered Showers & Storms (1-6PM). Hi 78. Lo 60.

TUESDAY: Warm, Partly Cloudy. Hi 78. Lo 54.

We managed to have yet another outstanding day this weekend with highs in the mid 80s and dry weather. Showers and storms will arrive after sunset starting around 10pm, ushering in our next wave of unsettled weather which maximizes on Monday. These storms will continue to weaken as they head eastward, but some locally gusty winds are possible. Lows drop into the mid to upper 60s overnight.

Monday will be a day to watch for additional storms. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) at this point has issued a slight outlook for severe weather (a level 2 out of 5 risk) of severe weather. However, as often the case is in central PA any chance of severe weather is not straightforward. Leftover clouds and stable air in the morning may limit how many storms form heading into the afternoon. Plus, the day may be quite pleasant until any storm does pop-up! Current threats from storms look to be damaging winds- although larger than average hail or a quick spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out. Heavy downpours will also be something to watch with some of these storms. Initial activity will start out with individual smaller storms and gradually transition into more linear (widespread) activity as a line of storms develops. This is expected to happen in the afternoon and evening on Monday (1-6PM). We’ll keep you updated! Rain chances gradually subside as dewpoints drop for the rest of the work week. Highs get into the mid to low 70s by the start of next weekend.
