The severity of the 1913 flood is apparent in this photo of the train depot in Fremont looking north from West State Street after the high water subsided.  Notice the damage to the crossing gates and the various buildings beyond the depot where much debris has been piled up.  The Hotel Fremont stood to the left of this photo across Front Street.
