New Hispanic community center opens in Dauphin County

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Latino Hispanic American Community Center opened today in Dauphin County.

The facility is on Derry Street in Harrisburg.

It’s the organization’s first time having its own space after 13 years.

Organizers say the new space allows them to add services to better support the community.

“And now we’re going to be able to have a computer lab, have a women’s entrepreneur space for women who have a business and don’t have the space to run their businesses and we’ll be able to do a lot more to provide certifications and training and skill building in our new building,” said Gloria Vazquez Merrick, executive director.

LHACC has been providing human services in Harrisburg since 2010.
