High winds into Tuesday, more rain chances ahead

There is still a risk for strong to severe storms early this morning as the strongest storms keep tracking to the east.

However, the severe threat should wind down after daybreak.

As the latest storm system continues to swing through it will continue to bring a chance for showers and storms into the area through the day, especially around and north of I-70.

In addition to the wet and stormy weather there will still be plenty of wind. A Wind Advisory will be in effect today between Central and Eastern Kansas.

Gusts will be even stronger to the west where High Wind Warnings will be in effect today. Gusts could reach upwards of 60 mph.

Grassfire concerns are lower today but our Oklahoma Panhandle counties will be under a Fire Weather Warning.

While many of our temperatures will still be warm for this time of year, they will not be as toasty as a couple of days ago and they will continue to fall over the coming days as more systems impact the area.

The next one after today will be late Wednesday into Thursday when a cluster of showers and storms tracks northwest to southeast.

There will also be another severe risk, mainly to the north of the Wichita Metro.

Skies stay unsettled over the weekend and showers will be possible Saturday, which will be a much cooler day for everyone. There is a chance that some early snowflakes could mix with Saturday showers to the northwest.
