Like a lot of babies, Maya was having trouble sleeping, so Ben bought a Merlin's Magic SleepSuit to help her stop waking up at night. As soon as they got it, he and his wife couldn't stop joking about how big and puffy it was.

"My wife, Emily, and I referred to it as her space suit," Ben told Redbookmag.com. "When she'd go down for a nap, we'd tell her she's going to the moon."

So, one day, while his wife was at work, Ben decided to make a few alterations to turn it into an actual spacesuit.

"I'm now on paternity leave for a few weeks, and my wife is back to work," he said. "She's been a bit stressed, and we are extremely sleep-eprived, so I did this entirely to make her laugh. I wanted to turn something that was stressing us out into something that makes us smile. "

Ben had secretly ordered some NASA and American flag patches from Amazon, and his mother sewed them on while she was visiting their San Francisco home. The entire process only took two hours.

He surprised his wife when she got home and she absolutely loved it. Looks like Maya's a fan as well.

So, does this mean little Maya's career trajectory has been all planned out?

"I would be proud if she became an astronaut but I hope she becomes herself, whoever she is, and does something that makes her happy."
