Henry County family asking for thief to return stolen Christmas decorations
A Henry County family’s Christmas decorations are in the hands of a Grinch seen on video taking them from their home.

For years, two giant inflatable decorations stood here outside a family’s house for the whole neighborhood to enjoy. But, over the weekend a Grinch came by and stole them.
“It kind of broke my heart yesterday,” Andy Segrest said.
For four years, the 12-foot inflatable toy soldiers going up outside the Segrest house marked the start of the Christmas season.
“I love Christmastime. It’s my favorite time of year, for giving things,” Andy said.
Every year, Andy and Krissy set up thousands of lights and a dozen inflatables.

But early Sunday morning, part of a family tradition was stolen.
“How could somebody do that, it’s Christmastime, everyone loves seeing it, you’re a Grinch,” Andy said.
The family’s surveillance cameras captured someone walking up to their Henry County home on Plantation Road at around 3:30 Sunday morning.
He looks around before touching the deflated decorations and cutting rope with a knife. He walks away with one before coming back for the second one and loading them into a white truck.
“It’s the meaning behind it you know, we would probably give it to him if he asked,” Krissy Segrest said.

The toy soldiers are part of a large Christmas display at the Segrest house and they’re the most sentimental.
“They don’t make them anymore we bought them, we’ve been married four years and we bought them our first year of marriage,” Andy said.
The family is just hoping to have them returned to complete their display that’s become the most popular in the neighborhood.
“Nobody should steal your Christmas decorations,” Andy said.
The video has been turned over to Henry County police.
The family is also offering a cash reward for the return of their decorations.
