Hawkeyes’ Lisa Bluder a semifinalist for Naismith Coach of the Year

Iowa head coach Lisa Bluder has been named a semifinalist for Naismith Coach of the Year. She was also a semifinalist in 2023.

The Naismith Coach of the Year award is presented annually to the most outstanding men’s and women’s head coach who achieves tremendous on-court success.

The Hawkeyes are well-positioned to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and just won the Big Ten Tournament for the third straight season.

Bluder has guided the program to its eighth consecutive season with 20 or more victories in her 24th year as the head coach at the University of Iowa. Under her direction, Iowa has won three straight Big Ten Tournament titles and had six out of the last seven Big Ten POYs.

On Friday Hawkeyes assistant Raina Harmon was named to the 2024 ABIS Head Coach Watch List on Friday by the Advancement of Blacks in Sport committee.

Harmon is in her seventh season as an assistant coach with the Hawkeyes. She works primarily with perimeter players.
