Harrisburg rowhomes damaged in overnight fire

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Investigators are working to determine the cause of an overnight rowhome fire in Harrisburg.

Crews were called to the 1400 block of Zarker Street around 1:15 a.m. Monday. The fire chief says it started outside, behind one of the homes. The flames spread to several neighboring units, causing heavy damage to at least two of them.

Four people are out of their homes this morning and being helped by the American Red Cross. An elderly woman was taken to the hospital for observation after being pulled from her home, according to fire officials.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire, but investigators say they are hoping surveillance video from one of the homes can help them determine how it started.
