Vice President Harris condemned former President Trump’s rhetoric Tuesday, after he shared a video on social media referencing a “unified Reich.”

During remarks in Philadelphia, Pa., at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) convention, the vice president argued that the video shows what’s at stake in November’s election.

“This kind of rhetoric is unsurprising coming from the former president and it is appalling,” she said. “And we’ve got to tell him who we are. And once again, it shows our freedoms and our very democracy are at stake.”

President Biden, when asked for a response to the video on Tuesday, told reporters, “It would take too long.”

Trump posted the video to his Truth Social page Monday night that featured hypothetical headlines about his potential victory in November, including one that referenced a “unified Reich.” The video, which was not created by the Trump campaign, was taken down Tuesday morning.

The White House earlier Tuesday blasted Trump over sharing the video, calling it “dangerous and offensive.”

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters they’d hear from Biden directly at some point Tuesday. The president has two campaign receptions in Boston in the evening.

Additionally, the Biden campaign argued in response to the video that Trump “is telling America exactly what he intends to do if he regains power: rule as a dictator over a ‘unified reich.’”
