Harris Boulevard shuttered in one area due to downed power lines

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte Fire advises motorists to steer clear of Harris Boulevard in one area due to downed powerlines.

A wreck brought down power lines in that area, and the road from Trysting Road (near CFD Station 23) to Delta Lane was closed.

Duke Energy said they were called to the scene and working to get a crew to the area just after 6:10 a.m.

After 7:10 a.m., officials confirmed that vehicle hit a pole and lines are down and there is no timetable for the eastbound lanes to reopen. Officials opened westbound lanes within the past hour.

There is no word on when the road will reopen. Queen City News reached out to Duke Energy to learn more about repairs and if a wreck took place at that location.
