Harper Road Infrastructure Work

Apr. 19—Mountaineer Gas Company is replacing a very old steel gas line that was installed in the 1940s at the 1500 block section of Harper Road in Beckley.

Mountaineer Gas on-site supervisor Sherman Lovell said, "The Harper Road section started at the intersection of North Western Avenue and will end at the Westwood Drive intersection.

We are replacing a 2,000-foot section with polyethylene pipe that services over 50 residences." The project will take a couple months to complete, and Lovell said to expect traffic backups with delays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Mountaineer Gas subcontracted the labor work to WV Pipeline.
