Hailey Baldwin Is Reportedly Being Sued for Plagiarism on Instagram

From Harper's BAZAAR

Plagiarism apparently applies to inspirational quotes on Instagram, and Hailey Baldwin has learned the hard way. The 19-year-old model is reportedly being sued by writer Melissa Molomo for posting her words without crediting her, according to Page Six.

Baldwin first posted the quote during Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's comment war over his new fling Sofia Richie in August. Though Baldwin and Bieber had a fling, she seemed to side with Gomez when she posted this photo, which has since been deleted from her feed:

Part of it reads, "Misplacing the blame onto someone else isn't going to get you to the next stage in life, so try not to manipulate a situation to make yourself look better. The truth always comes to light, so it's better just to own it." The quote was extremely relevant to the Bieber-Gomez feud, which included pointing fingers and accusations of cheating.

Molomo has sent Baldwin a cease-and-desist letter, demanding her to apologize and stop taking her work. It also states Baldwin could pay up to $150,000 in damages.

"You have taken credit and caused confusion as to whom the original author of this work is," part of the statement reads from Molomo's attorney reads, requesting that the model make a social media post apologizing for stealing the author's words and "fraudulently passing it off" as her own words. Baldwin has yet to comment, as she is currently walking in London Fashion Week.

Now most of the remaining quotes posted on her page are attributed to either writers or bible verses.
