Some H-E-B ice cream might have an unwelcome ingredient, leading to a voluntary recall from the grocer.

The potentially impacted ice cream products are 12-count packages of 3-ounce H-E-B Creamy Creations cups. According to H-E-B's newsroom website, the ice cream recall is because of "potential metal."

What ice cream flavors are impacted?

H-E-B is voluntarily recalling the flavors chocolate, homemade vanilla, lime sherbet and orange sherbet. The grocer sold the chocolate flavor in both a chocolate-only 12-pack and in a split 12-pack of chocolate and vanilla. The lime and orange sherbet came together in a split 12-pack.

Where was the ice cream sold?

The ice cream was on shelves at all H-E-B stores in Texas and Mexico, as well as Central Market, Joe V's Smart Shop, and Mi Tienda stores. H-E-B has removed the ice cream from all grocers.

The H-E-B newsroom wrote that no one has reported any injuries so far. The company still asks that purchasers of the potentially impacted ice cream refrain from eating it and return it to H-E-B for a full refund.
