Gunman opens fire on cab driver in NYC in crazy caught-on-camera moment

Terrifying video shows the moment an irate passenger opens fire on a livery driver — as the cabbie books it down the street following a fight over payment.

Eufelix Jiminian, 26, was driving a male passenger near Bronx Boulevard and Carpenter Avenue just before 4 a.m. on May 3 when an argument broke out about the fare, PIX 11 reported.

The video, taken from inside Jiminian’s white 2022 Toyota Highlander, shows the masked suspect jumping out of the moving car, with Jiminian visibly confused over what just happened.

The bewilderment, however, is short-lived when the suspect pulls out a gun and starts shooting at Jiminian.

The driver immediately hits the gas and races away from the gunman, who also booked it, according to the NYPD.

Police noted that at least one of the five shots fired struck Jiminian’s passenger door, but the driver managed to get away uninjured.

The gunman has yet to be identified.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers said it is now offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Fernando Mateo, the spokesman for the NYSFTD, said the incident is yet another reason as to why livery and cab drivers should avoid masked passengers.

“Drivers must stop picking up masked riders, if you can’t see their face do not pick them up,” Mateo told the outlet.

Police described the suspect in the incident as a male between 19 to 25 years old, wearing a black vest and jeans.

Police asked anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
