Shopping at Whole Foods is effectively like joining a cult. Once you start, it's nearly impossible to stop going there for literally all your needs - groceries, organic bath products, lunch and dinner when you can't handle cooking. You know you're paying entirely too much, but just being inside the store makes you feel all zen and somehow the cookies and baked goods in your cart seem like a much healthier option than a box of regular, supermarket brand cookies. Living your healthiest life walking down those aisles. But according to a new report, a different chain topped the list when it comes to America's favorite grocery store - and you might be slightly surprised.

Morning Consult Intelligence released their spring 2017 brand study, and it seems like Americans prefer shopping at Kroger over any other store. The chain claimed 53% favorability, leaving Whole Foods in the #2 spot at 48%.

Though it sounds surprising, because probably everyone you know shops at Whole Foods at this point, it's actually justifiable given that Kroger is one of the biggest grocery retailers in the US, and Whole Foods has had a whole share of problems lately, from food recalls, to shutting down kitchens thanks to FDA concerns, to even overcharging customers. Guess we see why Krogers reputation is on point RN.
