Groundbreaking ceremony for Glen Morgan Treatment Plant upgrade

GLEN MORGAN, WV (WVNS) — There will ground breaking ceremony for the Raleigh County Glen Morgan Treatment Plant upgrade on Monday April 22, 2024.

The ceremony will begin at noon. The location for this ceremony will be 380 C&O Shop Road, Glen Morgan, WV and is free to the public to attend.

This will begin the process of upgrading the sewage treatment to be added to additional areas for residents and businesses in the Beaver, Daniels, Glade Springs, Shady Spring, Cool Ridge, Ghent, and Flat Top areas.

“We’re excited to be upgrading the Glen Morgan sewer treatment plant in order to serve the growing areas in the southern part of Raleigh County,” said Jerry Smith, General Manager of the Shady Spring Public Service District.

This $8.7 million will improve the existing plant and add more capacity to better serve the residents in the area.
