Greenup indictments include multiple sex crimes

GREENUP A grand jury seated in Greenup County indicted several this week on a variety of charges.

Cases involving sexual abuse of minors and child pornography stand out on this week’s list mostly made up of property crimes and drug trafficking charges.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather a grand jury elected to issue formal felony charges after presented evidence from prosecutor witnesses.

The following people remain innocent until proven guilty and some charges may be dismissed or reduced in severity throughout the duration of court proceedings:

• Geoffrey Franklin Vance Potts, 24, of Flatwoods, was indicted on 10 counts of distributing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under the age of 12 and 10 counts of possessing or viewing such matter.

• Diamond S. Holyfield, 28, of Russell, was indicted on charges of second-degree sodomy and second-degree rape for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a victim less than 14 years old.

• Glen J. McClellan, 40, of Argillite, was indicted on a sole count of first-degree sexual abuse for having sexual contact with a female under the age of 16.

• Kelli Anne Tackett, 42, of Greenup, was indicted on charges of second-degree burglary and tampering with physical evidence.

• Kendrick Lee Atkinson, 42, of South Shore, was indicted on charges of second-degree burglary and tampering with physical evidence with a persistent felony offender enhancer.

• Harley Desiraee Shepherd, 28, of Portsmouth, was indicted on a sole count of trafficking more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.

• Derek Ryan Smith, 25, of Ashland, was indicted on a sole count of wanton endangerment for allegedly brandishing a firearm during an argument endangering “multiple people in the immediate area.”

• Jeremy Michael Vetter, 34, of Wheelersburg, was indicted on a sole count of identity theft.

• James Jonathan Lemaster, 41, of Olive Hill, was indicted on charges of receiving stolen property valued at more than $1,000, operating on a suspended or revoked license, reckless driving, no or expired registration plates, failure to maintain insurance and with a persistent felony offender enhancer.

• Seth Michael Smith, 34, of Portsmouth, was indicted on charges of possessing a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property with a value of $1,000 or more, possession of methamphetamine and with a persistent felony enhancer.

• Cameron Alexander Kilgore, 26, of Greenup, was indicted on a sole count of first-degree trafficking more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.

• Uriah Kendall Brown, 26, of Raceland, was indicted on charges of first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal mischief with a persistent felony offender enhancer.
