Great Plains Renaissance and Scottish Festival this weekend

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The annual spring Great Plains Renaissance and Scottish Festival is happening this weekend in Wichita.

The annual festival is held Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Sedgwick County Park. Visitors can enjoy jousting tournaments, knights, knaves, bagpipes, fire breathers, pirates, fairies, live music, dance performances, demonstrations from blacksmiths, falconers, and other period trades. Don’t forget the turkey legs!

The fair will also feature the Wichita Highland Games, which includes events like the caber toss, hammer throw, stone throw, and more. The fair also features a Kansas Author’s Pavilion where fans can meet local authors.

Make sure to dress for the weather this weekend. According to KSN’s Storm Track 3 forecast, Saturday has a high of 56 and a low of 40. It is expected to be mostly cloudy and breezy, with a 20% chance of rain. Sunday has a high of 62 and a low of 42. It is expected to be mostly to partly cloudy.
