A great day with small rain chances

The Thursday forecast is in pretty great shape. We do have a few spotty showers around in south-central Indiana but many are starting this morning with clear skies in the area. Temperatures are cooler and humidity is lowered. It’s a refreshing feel out the door with temperatures that have fallen to the 50s. With the drier air in place and some sunshine, we will take that temperature back up to near 80° this afternoon.

A few additional spotty showers or t-storms will be possible late this afternoon and evening. These will be very hit-and-miss with most locations remaining rain-free.

Carb Day is looking great. The day will be mainly dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Much like today, Friday will have the chance for a few spotty showers in the afternoon and early evening. High temperatures should rise a few more degrees, into the mid 80s with more humid conditions returning.

Late Friday night into early Saturday we’ll be watching a potential line of storms moving through the region. Some of these could be on the strong side with gusty winds. These should be weakening as they move through the state pre-dawn Saturday. There will be the chance for some additional spotty showers through the day on Saturday but there will be a lot of dry time as well.

The wettest day of the next 7 days is still targeted for Sunday. However, the forecast is looking improved with latest data trends. While rain is still expected in the area, the scattered nature of the setup could still afford a fair amount of dry time for the race. There will still be some adjustments to the forecast between now and then.
