Great Bend police ask for help finding missing mom and her infant son

GREAT BEND, Kan. (KSNW) – Police in Great Bend are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing mom and her infant son.

According to a missing persons flyer from the Great Bend Police Department, Crystal M. Demoss, 32, was reported missing on Sunday, May 5, from the Great Bend area.

“Several locations were searched and no contact has been made with DEMOSS or her infant son,” read the GBPD missing persons flyer.

Police Chief Steve Haulmark said during a city council meeting that the two could possibly be in danger, according to the Great Bend Post, which Haulmark confirmed to KSN was correct.

Demoss’ vehicle was located at the residence of a 25-year-old man with whom she shares a son. The man was booked into the Barton County Jail on Monday, May 6, on suspicion of criminal use of weapons and possession of marijuana.

In the Great Bend Post, Haulmark said, “It’s kind of a strange deal. An individual who’s identified in the investigation is a previously convicted felon. He was arrested for a couple of things to include being in possession of a firearm.”
