Grass fire near Lindsay causes burn injury

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – One person has a minor burn injury after a dry grass fire started close to a home in Lindsay on Thursday, according to the Tulare County Fire Department.

Firefighters say they responded to a grass fire in the area of Road 236 and Avenue 224 near Lindsay on Thursday just before 5 p.m.

Fire officials say one person reported a minor burn injury. They were evaluated by the ambulance and released at the scene.

Firefighters say they received assistance from the City of Lindsay Fire Department. The cause of the fire was by welding in dry grass.

The Tulare County Fire Department advises residents to make sure their home is ready for the upcoming fire season. They encourage homeowners to keep weeds and dry grass to a minimum of three inches and at least 100 feet from their homes since this could save their homes from damage.
