Grand jury to consider stabbing case

Apr. 18—A Laurel County grand jury will hear the case against a man accused of stabbing someone earlier this month.

Terry D. Lynch, 29, of London, is currently under a $50,000 cash bond at the Laurel County Correctional Center on charges that include first-degree assault.

The charge stems from London Police Department's response to a report of a stabbing at S&R Apartments on April 1.

According to LPD Public Affairs Hobie Daugherty, officers found a man who had been stabbed multiple times but was able to inform them that the assailant had fled the scene prior to their arrival.

LPD was able to quickly apprehend the suspect — identified as Lynch — in a nearby field. He was taken into custody without incident.

The victim, whom LPD did not name, received medical attention and is currently recovering from his injuries.

Lynch's case was sent on to the grand jury for consideration after Laurel District Judge W.L. "Skip" Hammons Jr. found probable during his preliminary hearing on April 9.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the London Police Department at 606-878-7004 and request to speak to Detective Riley.
