Grand Junction elects new mayor – Live

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) —The Grand Junction City Council has selected a new mayor to replace outgoing Mayor Anna Stout. Former Mayor Pro Tem Abe Herman has been appointed as the new mayor of Grand Junction. Herman is the owner and operator of Sukkah Project, a small business in Grand Junction that ships products nationally and internationally. He also sits on the board of Friends of Youth and Nature, which provides funding for youth activities in underserved communities to learn in the outdoors. Council member Randall Reitz was appointed as the new Mayor Pro Tem. Reitz holds a doctorate in marriage and family therapy from Brigham Young University. He returned to Grand Junction in 2008 to work for St. Mary’s Family Medicine Residency, where he trains the next generation of family physicians, therapists and social workers.
