Gov. Evers is accepting applications for Sheboygan County sheriff after Cory Roeseler announced he's retiring

SHEBOYGAN — Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers announced Thursday he is accepting applications for Sheboygan County sheriff.

The governor's announcement came after current sheriff Cory Roeseler announced April 30 he will be retiring effective June 3 to spend time with and care for his family. He has served as sheriff since 2018.

The newly appointed sheriff will complete the remainder of Roeseler’s term, which ends in January 2027.

Interested parties can apply for the position by completing the “Register of Deeds, Coroner, and Sheriff” application on the “Apply to Serve” page on Gov. Evers’ website.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. May 15.
