A Gordo woman was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday in Pickens County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Barbara A. McDaniel, 63, was fatally injured when the 2005 Honda Accord she was driving collided head-on with a 2014 Nissan Rogue driven by Cynthia D. Sullivan, 61, of Ethelsville.

Troopers said McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sullivan was injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. The crash left debris on the roadway, which was struck by the 2015 Land Rover driven by Kenneth J. Marcum, 47, of Berry.

The crash occurred at around 2:10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 82 near the 28 mile marker, about 4 miles east of Gordo, in Pickens County.

No further information was provided and troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating.
