Gleason, Vasilko elected GOP convention delegates

Two well-known Cambria County Republicans will serve as delegates to the Republican National Convention this summer.

Rob Gleason, of Westmont, who was chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2017, and Jim Vasilko, of Richland Township, were elected delegates during a meeting Saturday of the Republican State Committee in Harrisburg, Gleason said in a release to media.

The convention will be held July 15 to 18 in Milwaukee.

Gleason is the longest-serving Pennsylvania Republican chairman in history, and this will mark his ninth time serving as a delegate, he said.

State House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler, Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity, former U.S. Ambassador to Denmark Carla Sands, state Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward, and U.S. Reps. Mike Kelly, Glenn “GT” Thompson and Dan Meuser were also named delegates, Gleason said.
