Girl, 12, hit by car at zebra crossing in front of Bukit Batok school, driver assisting with investigations

The police said the accident happened along Bukit Batok Street 21 towards Bukit Batok Central.

SINGAPORE — A 12-year-old girl was hit by a car while walking on a zebra crossing near a school in Bukit Batok on Tuesday (16 April).

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it was alerted to the accident involving a car and a female pedestrian along Bukit Batok Street 21 towards Bukit Batok Central at 7.05am on Tuesday.

The girl was conveyed conscious to the hospital, the police said.

The car driver, a 50-year-old man, is assisting with investigations.

A video posted on Facebook group "SG Road Vigilante - SGRV" showed the car driver appearing to ignore the traffic warden and hitting the girl at the zebra crossing. The video showed the girl being flung off her feet after the car hit her.

The video ended with the car stopping, and the traffic warden walking over to check on the situation.

Police investigations are ongoing.
