Gas leak reported in Selma, police issue emergency alert

SELMA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Police in Selma issued an emergency alert due to a reported gas leak on Monday in the south part of the city.

The incident was first reported around 12:15 p.m.; a further update by Selma Police around an hour later confirmed that the leak had been repaired and the impacted roads had reopened.

According to a post on social media, the gas leak was first reported on McCall Avenue, between Park Street and Blaine Avenue, and on Valley View Street, between McCall Avenue and Sheridan Street. The area officers say was impacted also went underneath Highway 99.

Highway 99 remained open while the leak was being repaired.
