Garvin Co. deputy saves driver after car rolls into lake

PAULS VALLEY, Okla. (KFOR) – A Garvin County deputy jumped into action to save a driver after their vehicle rolled into a lake.

According to the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Cody Lane responded after receiving a call about a car rolling into the Pauls Valley City Lake on Tuesday, March 19.

Upon arrival, the Deputy found the car on it’s side in the water with the driver trapped inside. Without hesitation, Dep. Lane began helping the individual without worrying about his own safety.

Dep. Lane jumped into the murky water and, with help from emergency personnel, pulled the driver to safety. Once they were on shore, the driver was able to receive the medical attention they needed.

“Couldn’t be more proud of a Deputy who’s willing to jump into snake infested water & save a life. Thank you Deputy Lane, for your courage and service! You are appreciated!” said the Garvin Co. Sheriff’s Office.

The quick and selfless actions of Dep. Lane turned a dire situation into a hopeful one.
