Garces Circle to undergo enhancement project, traffic delays expected

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield announced plans for construction coming soon to the Garces Circle.

Starting April 29, intermittent closures near the Garces Circle are expected through August 20. The closures will be of adjoining streets such as 30th Street, South Frontage Road, North Frontage Road, and Chester Avenue. New storm drains, curbing and gutters will be a part of the project. The city plans on improving the lighting in the area, as well as adding new pavement and pedestrian crossings.

Construction will run from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but these times can change due to unforeseen circumstances. Expect traffic delays in these areas during this time period. The city says drivers will still have access to businesses and residences during the construction.

Traffic on Golden State Avenue will also be impacted during construction, according to the city.
