2 teens injured after falling off a truck's bed cover Friday night in South Lubbock

A Friday night incident in South Lubbock is under investigation by police after it led to two juveniles falling from a vehicle.

According to Lubbock police, officers responded to a call to assist EMS at 11:37 p.m. in the 6700 block of Aberdeen Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old female suffering from serious injuries and a 14-year-old female suffering from minor injuries. The 15-year-old was transported by ambulance to UMC, and the 14-year-old was treated at the scene by EMS.

Through police's initial investigation, it appears the two juveniles were riding on top of the bed cover of a pickup driven by a 17-year-old male. He was driving south in the 6700 block of Aberdeen Avenue when both juveniles fell off the bed cover.

According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
