Fresno nonprofit hosts banquet to help human trafficking victims

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Breaking the Chains, a local nonprofit organization that provides healing, hope, and restoration to survivors of human trafficking, held its 10th Annual Promise Banquet in Clovis.

The banquet was held at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District to raise money for their organization since they are privately funded.

Their co-founder says it has been rough for them since the loss of Debra Rush’s daughter, who was killed in Los Angeles and was a victim of human trafficking.

“With everything we are through as a family at breaking the chains, it’s more important now because we are just trying to get the word out and make sure we can educate as many people as possible,” said Tiffany Apodaca, Co-founder and COO of Breaking The Chains.

The money raised from the banquet will go towards their general operations that continue to provide resources to those impacted by human trafficking.
