Fresno airport to conduct emergency exercise

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Yosemite International Airport will be conducting a triennial emergency exercise.

The airport says the exercise will be on Wednesday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m.

They will be conducting their required Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), exercise tests on airfield disaster preparedness and response by simulation of a full-scale emergency.

This will provide the opportunity to test components of the Airport’s Emergency Plan.

According to airport officials, this crucial exercise ensures the readiness of the airport first responders and provides an opportunity to prepare for an incident with the airline, airport, and agency partners, as well as mutual aid fire and police agencies.

This will not affect airport and aircraft operations. Flight operations will continue as usual during the exercise.
