Franklin County crash leaves one pedestrian dead

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A crash that occurred Thursday evening resulted in the death of one pedestrian.

According to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), on the evening of May 23, around 9:12 p.m., a driver of a 2018 GMC Sierra truck was traveling in the northbound lane of Lemar Road in Peters Township.

The driver of the vehicle then struck a pedestrian who was walking in the northbound lane while facing on-coming traffic.

The pedestrian, John Stottlemeyer of Mercersburg, was killed as a result of the crash.

No additional injuries were reported on the scene.
