With some locations north and east of Houston picking up 5 to 11" of rain Sunday and Monday, issues with flooding linger. Biggest problems are along the Trinity River and East Fork of the San Jacinto River where moderate to major flooding is expected the next few days. Additional rounds of rain could trigger more flooding problems Wednesday through Friday. So much of the area has been placed at a Marginal to Slight risk for street flooding on Wednesday and Thursday. A few strong storms could also roll through Wednesday evening to Thursday morning. The best chance is NW of Houston where Brenham, College Station & Huntsville are under a low 1/5 risk of severe storms. On the second day of the Google I/O 2024 conference, Google said on Wednesday that it is adding new security and privacy protections to Android, including on-device live threat detection to catch malicious apps, new safeguards for screen sharing, and better security against cell site simulators. The company said it is increasing the on-device capability of its Google Play Protect system to detect fraudulent apps trying to breach sensitive permissions. Google said if the system is certain about malicious behavior, it disables the app automatically.
