Four hurt in crash involving school bus and ambulance in Port Allen

PORT ALLEN, La. (BRPROUD) – Three students and an Acadian Ambulance employee were hurt in an accident on Wednesday, March 27.

The crash involved a West Baton Rouge Parish school bus and an Acadian Ambulance. It took place around 7:19 a.m. at N. 14th Street and Court Street, according to the Port Allen Police Department.

The four people hurt in this crash were taken to a local hospital, PAPD said.

The West Baton Rouge Parish School Board said the students suffered minor injuries and were transported “out of an abundance of caution.” They confirmed that the rest of the kids on the bus said they were not hurt.

There were approximately 40 students on the bus and they were from Cohn Elementary School and Port Allen Middle School, according to the school board.

Two West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office employees fired, arrested in separate cases

The school board said that another bus came and took most of the kids to their schools and a few parents came and got their kids.

The investigation into this crash remains ongoing.
