Four new commissioners appointed to New Orleans Regional Transit Authority board

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority Board of Commissioners has four new representatives for Orleans and Jefferson parishes.

According to the RTA, in a meeting on Wednesday, April 24, Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng appointed Parish Attorney Toni Hurley to serve on the Executive and Finance Committees, Deputy Parish Attorney Brad Richard to serve on the Operations and Administration Committee and Assistant Parish Attorney Colin Cisco to serve on the Finance Committee.

For Orleans Parish, Mayor LaToya Cantrell appointed Flozell Daniels Jr., who RTA officials say is returning to the board after stepping down in 2022 after serving 11 years. He will serve on the Finance Committee.

“This is an exciting and transformative time for the RTA, and we remain as focused as ever on our mission to serve our constituents with the world-class, dependable, and safe transit service they deserve and to lead the state as a regional transit provider,” said RTA Board Chair Mark Raymond, Jr.

RTA’s CEO Lona Edwards Hankins says the board is excited to return to all regularly scheduled meetings and looks forward to collaborating with the new members.
