Fort Smith Board of Directors approves truck bypass update
FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Fort Smith Board of Directors approves an update to the truck bypass route in downtown Fort Smith.
According to a press release, effective immediately, the truck route will be relocated from North 5th Street to North 4th Street between North H Street and North P Street.

The release says the change aims to redirect truck traffic away from residential neighborhoods and onto streets mor suited for industrial use in an atempt to enhance safety and reduce noise and congestion in the affected areas.
