Former teacher facing child sexual abuse charges in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A former math teacher in Chesapeake is facing child sexual abuse charges, police said.

The Chesapeake Police Department received information in January that Daniel Fleming was potentially involved in criminal activity involving children, police said. As a result of the investigation, Fleming was charged with solicitation of child sexual abuse photos, and the use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

Fleming was formerly employed at a private school in Chesapeake as a math teacher and involved in Youth Ministries at a local church.
