Former Granite Bay church employee accused of $50k burglary

(FOX40.COM) — A former Bayside Church employee is accused of stealing property worth over $50,000 from the church.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested a 41-year-old man from Citrus Heights after a multi-week investigation of the burglary case at the church.

A video shared by the sheriff’s office showed various electronical equipment among the stolen property.

Officials said a breakthrough in the case happened after deputies responded to an alarm at Bayside and encountered the suspected burglar near the church.

During a search, officials said deputies found “burglary tools” and a set of keys to Bayside that were allegedly in his possession.

As the investigation progressed, the sheriff’s office detectives uncovered a storage unit and discovered the stolen property during a search.

Bayside Church told FOX40.com the 41-year-old man accused of the theft is a former employee.
