Former Anson County coach accused of human trafficking faces additional charges in Stanly County

ANSON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man known for coaching kids in Anson County who was accused of human trafficking among other crimes against children now faces additional charges out of Stanly County, according to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities in Stanly County worked alongside Anson County’s Criminal Investigation Division to investigate multiple sexual offenses against minors at the hands of Jamoszio Shabaun Burch.

The 30-year-old man has been charged with two counts of statutory sexual offense with a person who is 15 years of age or younger for crimes that occurred in Stanly County, the sheriff’s office announced on Monday.

Burch is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail.

Anson County has charged Burch with human trafficking as well as indecent liberties with a child. Burch was known throughout the area as ‘Coach Moszi.’ He was a youth basketball coach for a recreation league known as the Carolina NC Jayhawks. He also listed himself as a coach for Union Academy Charter School in Monroe.

This multi-county investigation remains open and ongoing.
