Fish-for-free day in Pennsylvania

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — During the Memorial Day weekend, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is offering a statewide Fish-for-Free Day.

PFBC reports from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, no fishing license is required to fish.

No license is required on this Sunday however, all other fishing regulations, including seasons, sizes, and creel limits, apply, officials noted.

During the holiday weekend, the PFBC reminds anglers fishing from boats to follow a safety checklist before and during each adventure.

PFBC says boaters should always wear a life jacket, check the weather forecast, have proper registrations and launch permits, and never boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
