First Responder Friday: Steven Martin

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — It’s time for another edition of First Responder Friday as News13 honors Grand Strand and Pee Dee first responders.

This week’s nominee is Cpl. Steven Miller with the Florence Police Department. Martin has been with the department for nine years.

He spent his first seven years on the patrol division and is now on the traffic unit. Cpl. Martin has been on the Fatal Accident Investigation Team (FAIT) for nearly five years. In 2023, he was voted as “Traffic Officer of the Year” by his colleagues.

Martin dedicates his time to the city of Florence and works diligently to ensure the safety of its citizens. He’s described as someone who’s hard working and goes above and beyond his call of duty.

Those around him are confident they can depend on him, and his knowledge, of traffic related incidents. The person who nominated him said, although he doesn’t ask for the recognition, it’s well deserved.

If you would like to nominate someone for First Responder Friday, send an email to NEWS@WBTW.COM. Tell us why you chose that person and attach a photo.
