Firefighters contain residential house fire in downtown San Jose

(KRON) — Firefighters knocked down a residential house fire in downtown San Jose Tuesday, according to the San Jose Fire Department. The blaze was located in a house on the 100 block of North 4th Street, according to SJPD.

The fire was upgraded to two alarms before it was contained at 1:14 p.m., officials said. Fire crews are to remain on the scene. Electrical utilities and power outages around the area were secured by PG&E, officials said.

The San Jose Police Department provided traffic control while firefighters responded.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze. Video posted by firefighters showed heavy smoke emanating from the scene and at least one structure engulfed in flames.
