Firefighters rescued a dog in large house fire

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– The Lansing Fire Department was dispatched to a large house fire and rescued a dog on the 300 block of W. Shiawassee and Walnut this morning.

Officials say the heavy fire was present on the first and second floors of the house. Fire crews say one person lived in the home and was safe outside when help arrived and one dog was rescued from the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
