Fire engine involved in crash, one person hospitalized

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to CSPD, a CSFD fire engine was responding to a call with lights and sirens when it was involved in a crash with a sedan.

CSPD said crews originally responded to the crash at the intersection of East Boulder Street and North Weber Street shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday. CSPD said the crash investigation revealed that the fire truck was responding to a structure fire and heading north on Weber with lights and sirens.

CSPD said a car also heading north on Weber was making a left turn onto Boulder Street when the crash happened. Roads in the area were closed for several hours, and the crash investigation is ongoing.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), on Friday, April 5, there was a crash between a Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) truck and a car.

A FOX21 News crew went to the scene and learned from the CSPD that a fire engine was heading to the scene of a house fire when it collided with a vehicle at the intersection of East Boulder Street and North Weber Street.

One person was in the car and was taken to the hospital, CSPD told FOX21 News there were serious but non-threatening injuries.
