Fire at Clackamas apartment building ‘extinguished,’ officials say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Firefighters put out a blaze at an apartment building in Clackamas Tuesday evening.

According to the Clackamas County Fire Department, crews were dispatched at around 8:26 p.m. following reports of the three-story building on fire at 9956 Southeast Talbert Street in Clackamas.

When crews arrived, witnesses said people inside the second story were evacuating. Clackamas Fire evacuated one person from the first floor. By 9:01 p.m., officials declared the fire “under control.” An update around 9:33 p.m. confirmed the flames had “been extinguished.”

Izak Hamilton, a spokesperson for Clackamas Fire, told KOIN 6 News at least four apartments were involved in the fire. No one was injured. Investigators are still determining a cause.
