February sets travel record at Eisenhower National Airport

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Airport Authority says February was another record month for Eisenhower National Airport.

In February, 123,768 passengers flew in and out of Wichita, which represents a 15% increase over last year, according to airport officials. Overall, air travel out of Eisenhower National is up 10.49% year-to-date.

In addition, the airport says food and gift shop sales are up 21%, rental cars 4%, and parking revenue revenue increased by 32%. Outbound air cargo saw a 7% increase, while inbound decreased by 7%.

The airport authority cites new services from American Airlines to Phoenix, Miami, and Washington, DC, as well as Southwest Airlines’ daily service to Las Vegas as the reasons for the continued growth. You can find the full February Activity Report here.
