Fayetteville motorcyclist dies following Murchison Road wreck on Saturday

A Fayetteville motorcyclist died Saturday after colliding with another vehicle on Murchison Road, officials said.

Carl Roye, 33, of Fayetteville, was operating a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R750 south on Murchison Road about 4:30 p.m. when he collided with a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Bill Gomez, 66, of Fayetteville, according to the Fayetteville Police Department’s preliminary investigation. Gomez had turned onto Murchison Road from Blan Street.

Roye was pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.
