Fatal crash involving pedestrian, ambulance

ELYRIA, Ohio (WJW) — Elyria police officers responded Monday afternoon to the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and an ambulance.

It happened just after 3 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at 310 East Avenue, which is the Riverview Plaza apartment building.

The crash involved an ambulance operated by the Elyria-based LifeCare Ambulance and a pedestrian, according to a news release from Elyria police Capt. Phillip Hammonds.

Police officers are actively investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Aaron Varga at 440-326-1308 or varga@cityofelyria.org. Anonymous tips may also be provided by texting TIPELYRIA and the tip to 84741.
